Hi Villagers,
Welcome to Lavender Lemonade—a soft place to land, a deep breath in the chaos, and somewhere to turn when life gives you lemons.
I’m Marissa, nice to meet you!
I’m a Registered Nurse, maternal mental health advocate, and founder of Lavender Village Society. Most importantly, I’m a mama to one beautiful boy.
Like many of you, I’ve weathered the storms of postpartum life, felt the weight of unspoken struggles, and slowly learned to make something beautiful from even the sourest seasons.
That’s what Lavender Lemonade is all about: when life gave me lemons, I made lemonade... my way.
I added a whole lot of lavender, softness, compassion, grace and thought.
I founded Lavender Village Society, helping others through things I’ve been through is the sweetest lemonade.
Here on the blog, I’ll be sharing:
•Raw reflections and personal stories from the front lines of motherhood and nursing
•Tips and truths about postpartum care, mental health, and maternal recovery
•Updates on our community work, including The Kristen and Baby Beaton Centre for Maternal Health
•Interviews, guest voices, and resources for anyone walking through this sacred, sometimes stormy chapter of life
Whether you’re a new parent, a survivor of perinatal trauma, a birth worker, or simply someone who cares, I hope you find yourself seen here.
Talk soon!
All my love and squeezes,
Nurse Marissa
