About Us
Lavender Village Society was established by a Women's and Children's Health and Mental Health Nurse from Nova Scotia. Along with work experience, she brings a wealth of personal experience to our mission. She is a mother herself and a survivor of preeclampsia and post partum psychosis. As a former patient of both inpatient and outpatient Mental Health, she has first hand experience with how valuable a care package and peer support can be during these difficult times.

Why Lavender Village?
Lavender is known to have an anti-anxiety and anti-depressive effect promoting increased relaxation and decreasing stress. The lavender plant's soothing qualities have long been celebrated in aromatherapy, and it is a powerful emblem of emotional well-being.
The village mentioned in the name is in reference to taking a village to raise a child. This organization aims to be that village for Nova Scotia women who are struggling in this area.
Our Mission
Our overarching goal is to support the mental health and wellness of Nova Scotia women and their support systems during inpatient or outpatient medical care. Support will be given to mothers who are currently pregnant, post-partum, struggling with fertility, and/or have school-aged children.
We will fulfill our purpose by offering virtual and physical peer support and providing care packages tailored to each applicant.
Women can submit requests for support on their own behalf or support can be requested on their behalf by their support persons or care providers.
